Annual Parish Meeting 2015

Annual Parish Meeting
Memorial Hall
Tuesday 5th May 7pm

This is an ideal opportunity to learn more about the role of the Marden Parish Council and the work that they have undertaken over the past year.

Organisations will shortly be contacted by the Parish Council to provide a report of their activities in 2014 and these reports will be available at the evening and on the Parish Council website following the meeting.

Tea and coffee is served at 7pm and the business begins at 7:30pm.  After the meeting everyone is invited to stay to meet Parish Councillors over cheese and wine.  Speakers are currently being booked and if you have anything of interest you wish to hear about that is relevant to the village, please contact Alison Hooker (Marden Parish Council) at or call 01622 832305.

Keep Marden Beautiful
Village Clean Up
Saturday 21st March

Last year we had a really successful Village Litter Pick so the Parish Council have decided to organise it again.

We would like as many of you to help out as possible, so if you would like to come along and volunteer your services on Saturday 21st March in the morning, please either email Alison (Marden Parish Council) at or call 01622 832305.

It would also be helpful if both businesses and residents could take the time to clear any rubbish/weeds from the front of their properties.  Let’s all do what we can to ‘Keep Marden Beautiful’!

Manufactured in Marden

Fantastic Network Event with over 70 Marden Business Forum members and guests attending the event!

We knew there was a good manufacturing base within the Marden Business Forum, but to see the enormous waste water tanks of Crest Engineering, through to a delicately balanced Gin and soon to be Vodka from Anno Distillers. Others included the Wellbeing People Activities, Burtons machinery producing Veterinary products, Turners Cider, Sprayranger and many others all manufactured in Marden.  West End Tavern kept us all fed, by cooking up the BBQ.

Watch out for the next event, a taster of another product grown and produced in Marden.

The Great Interior Design Challenge

The second series of ‘The Great Interior Design Challenge’ for BBC2, will be coming to Marden next week (8th – 11th July 2014).

The series has a really simple purpose: to showcase the amazing talents of Britain’s amateur interior designers by allowing them to redesign a room in a period or architecturally interesting property. Each episode is set in a different part of the country and intends to explore and celebrate a particular architectural style specific to that area. Each programme features three amateur designers who each transform a room in three similar properties. A link to info on the previous series is here:

Filming will mainly be taking place on Hunton Road, but they may also get some shots of the surrounding area.

Marden Village Club — Quiz Night 3.8.2013

If anyone is interested in entering a team please can you contact Chris Barker at please?

“I have just discovered due to a lack of advertising, that we only have two teams entered for the Marden Village Club Quiz on August 3rd.  I wondered if you could flash an EMail through to all societies, organisations and other collections of people who you think might like to put a team together.  The charity supported by this and other events this year is for Dementia (I’ve forgotten the rest!) Unfortunately, due to the imminent occurence of this event, team names and a deposit of £5.00 per head have to be logged at the club by end of business on Friday 26th. July. Teams will be fed on the evening, a “Ploughmans supper” is supposedly threatened!  There will also be a raffle held, prizes having been donated by local businesses I am told. (Living on my spiral arm of the universe, I am kept somewhat in the dark (and cold)). I’m sorry for delivering this potential problem to your desk at such a late, date but any support would most definitely gratefully received.”
