A local business has received a phone call from a man saying his name was George Porter and he was calling from the Police to thank them for their donation towards crime prevention.
When interrupted and asked a question, the man put the phone down and ended the call.
He was probably either phoning to ask about security measures with a view to breaking in and theft or to ask for bank details to confirm the donation or for taking further ‘donations’.
