Maidstone Borough Council wants to partner with and support Parish Councils with tree planting projects to enhance environmental benefit to landowners. Be this purely aesthetic enhancement of an area, for flood prevention, pollution reduction, or to increasing biodiversity; we would like to support you.
Subject to your project parameters, feasibility and costs – the Borough Council will subsidise, match fund or support landowners in linking tree planting projects to national Government initiatives and funding opportunities. In collaboration and with technical support from the Kent Wildlife Trust and the Woodland Trust, the Borough Council will map and work with landowners and land managers to assess the planting sites. There is no minimum size of land to plant trees, but larger scale projects would be prioritised.
