2014 / 2015 Membership

A big thank you to the 84 local businesses that have renewed their Marden Business Forum membership for 2014 / 2015.

Those that haven’t renewed for 2014 were emailed notification earlier this week that your membership will expire on Monday 30th June, unless you renew.

Road Closure: 1st July

At 12:00 on Tuesday 1st July a funeral procession will pass through Pattenden Lane, en route to Marden Church from the Stliebridge Caravan Site.

The procession will include a number of vehicles, so please be aware access around Marden Village will be restricted during this time.

More Time for Flood-hit residents and businesses

MBC News Release: Residents and businesses hit by flooding this winter have been given more time to apply for council tax discounts and business rates relief from Maidstone Borough Council. The deadline for applications has now been extended to 1st September 2014.

Maidstone council’s Head of Revenues and Benefits Shared Service, Stephen McGinnes, said: “We know there are still lots of residents and businesses who were affected by the flooding who haven’t applied for the discount, so we’ve extended the deadline to make sure everyone has as much opportunity as possible to receive this support.”

Anyone who pays the council tax or business rates on a property that flooded – including private rental tenants – can apply for the schemes. Details and application forms are available at www.maidstone.gov.uk/winter, or call 01622 602003 for more details.

KCC move signs at MBF Request

Lobbying by the MBF to KCC Highways Department, has achieved KCC’s agreement to relocate the signage at the junction of Pattenden Lane and Underlyn Lane to provide a better view when exiting Pattenden Lane.
The signs were in line of sight for Van drivers, obscuring the view of the highway.

Our next event

Unfortunately our networking event on 3rd July has had to be postponed until September.
Keep an eye on the website for further details.
